DIXON – Enrique Rodriguez, 85, of Dixon, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Amboy Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born Aug. 17, 1927, in Port Arthur, Texas, the son of Enrique and Angelina Rodriguez. He had been employed by the Illinois Central Railroad for 42 years prior to retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Moose Club.

He married Josefina Rebollar on Jan. 6, 1968, in Mexico.

He is survived by his wife of Dixon; children, Henry Rodriguez of Neenah, Wis., Andy  Rodriguez of Rockford, and Mary Kimberly Rodriguez of St. Louis; two brothers, Arthur Rodriguez of Dixon and Jose Rodriguez of Rockford; two stepbrothers, Nicanor Rodriguez of Del Rio, Texas, and Aril Rodriguez of Santa Maria, Calif.; one stepsister, Lupe Sosa of Mexico City, Mexico; and many nieces, nephews and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Jessi Gonzales and Alice Vasquez.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, with a prayer service at 10 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Dixon. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon, with the Rev. Bernard Joseph Sehr officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.
