MANLIUS – Shelter Insurance Foundation will award a $2,000 scholarship this spring to a Bureau Valley High School graduate.

Rita J. Frank, a Shelter agent in Manlius, sponsors and partially funds the scholarship. A committee of local high school officials and community leaders will choose the recipient. The committee will consider each applicant’s scholastic achievements, educational goals, citizenship, moral character, and participation and leadership in school, as well as community activities. The winner will be announced at the close of the school year.

The money must be used toward a degree at any accredited college or university. Payment will be made directly to the school the recipient selects.

The scholarship covers tuition, fees, or campus housing for any course of study beginning the fall after the recipient’s high school graduation.

Applications and additional information about the scholarship will be available in early March. Applications should be completed and returned by March 31 to a school official on the selection committee. Interested seniors should contact their high school counselor or principal, or call Frank at 815-445-3391.
