GRAND RIVERS, Ky. – Chad Allen Scott, 25, of Grand Rivers, Ky., formerly of Sterling, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at his home in Grand Rivers. He was a welder for Three Rivers Barge Co. in Ledbetter, Ky.

Chad was born June 11, 1987, in Dixon, the son of Elaine (Schulte) and Jeff Scott. He was a member of Grand Rivers Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, Elaine (Dennis) Winebrenner of Sterling; father, Jeff Scott of Calvert City, Ky.; brother, Kyle Winebrenner of Sterling; sister, Crystal Scott of Dixon; maternal grandmother, Frances Schulte of Dixon; paternal grandmother, Sharon Scott of Grand Rivers; two nieces; one nephew; and several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Elmer Schulte; and paternal grandfather, Keith Scott.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 10:30 a.m., today at St. John Lutheran Church, 703 Third Ave., Sterling, with the Rev. Mark Oehlert, pastor, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
