I would like to thank Sauk Valley Media for allowing me to submit this guest column about my candidacy for the office of city clerk in Rock Falls.

As a resident of Rock Falls, I have tried to always be a servant for the city I love and call home. I am a volunteer for the Rock River Development Authority and have logged many hours of keeping our canal and river clean and free of garbage. I am a former 3rd Ward alderman, and former chairman of the Public Works Committee.

For over 3 years, I have been appointed by the Rock Falls City Council to the city’s Police and Fire Commission. Serving on the city’s Finance and Personnel committees has also helped prepare me for the office of city clerk.

It is with this spirit that I ask for your vote on April 9. I have the experience and the willingness to do a great job for the people of Rock Falls as your city clerk.

Over the past decade, I feel that the city has begun to make very noticeable improvements, such as improved roads, electrical upgrades, fiber-optic Internet, the placement of the new sewer plant, and the riverfront.

I am glad to see this city making strides forward while keeping the budget in line. It is efforts like those that make me proud of our city and excited about our city’s future.

As your city clerk, I will always fight to keep the public informed about the workings of your government. My office will be open for you to ask questions if you have them. I will keep our citizens notified of future meetings and informed of the city council’s actions.

I thank you for being involved and taking the time to read this, and I look forward to serving you soon.
