DIXON – A woman who worked for the college for more than 15 years will join the Sauk Valley Community College Board of Trustees.

Paula Meyer, 48, new finance director for the city of Dixon and former dean of business services for the college, was one of two candidates elected to the board Tuesday.

Andrew Bollman, 36, an attorney, was re-elected to the board. The current chairman of the community college board will serve his third term.

Meyer received 6,685 votes from those in Whiteside, Lee and Carroll counties, while Bollman received 6,825 votes. Vote totals from Ogle and Bureau counties were unavailable.

Four people were vying for two seats on the board. Meyer and Bollman beat out longtime board member William J. Simpson and newcomer Judith Ann Gordon.

The two elected will serve 6-year terms.
