DIXON – The Alzheimer’s Association Central Illinois Chapter’s Rock River Area office offers around-the-clock support for area residents with the disease or related dementias.

Scheduled educational programs are offered and services can be accessed, such as the helpline and website. Trained professionals, including Central Illinois Chapter staff, man the association’s toll-free, 24/7 helpline 800-272-3900 and provide a listening ear and answer any questions regarding Alzheimer’s disease.

One of the helpline’s duties is assisting callers in answering, “Where do I go from here?” The helpline also provides basic information about the disease, referrals, special facility information, local resources, and care consultations.

The Central Illinois Chapter’s website, alz.org/illinoiscentral, presents an in-depth array of information on the disease and the resources the chapter provides. Among them are online education programs, meeting information, area programs and support groups, educational opportunities, details on the warning signs of Alzheimer’s, research updates, and caregiver tips.

Information also can be found on the chapter’s Facebook page, facebook.com/AlzCentralIllinoisChapter.
