Young citizens encouraged to attend meeting
We’re beginning to see an exciting trend: young people paying attention to current events and speaking out. When you go to a political event, it’s usually attended by middle-aged voters and seniors, but more and more young people are realizing that the policies approved today are negatively impacting their future – and they’re doing something about it.
Turning Point USA is an organization of young people passionate about the future who know they must take part in shaping political policies if they’re to inherit the society they want. In a video on its website, the group speaks directly to other young people.
“Our generation is in trouble. It is time for action, time to take a stand. Politicians have bankrupted us, both fiscally and morally. … Republicans and Democrats are not the answer. The next generation is taking a stand. Across the country, young people are uniting to save their future, under three key principles: fiscal responsibility, free markets, and capitalism. Join our cause, join the fight. Help us preserve liberty for the next generation. Tomorrow is brighter. Face the future.”
Young people are waking up to the fact that they’re inheriting a future that will leave them with less liberty and less economic opportunity than that which their parents inherited. They recognize that it’s up to them to change that reality.
Charlie Kirk is the founder of Turning Point USA. He has been a guest on many cable news programs. He will be the main speaker for the Sauk Valley Tea Party meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Rock Falls Eagles Club.
Our meetings are always open to the public, and we especially encourage local college and high school students to come hear what Charlie has to say. After all, it’s their future that’s being shaped right now.
