Merlin’s prepares for preview, open house

OREGON – Merlin’s Christmas open house weekend will feature a limited, private ticket-only preview from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at 300 Mix St. Merlin’s will be closed until 5 p.m. that day.

Before the event, those wanting to attend should bring in a canned food item and purchase a $10 ticket. All money from ticket sales will be donated back to local charities and food pantries.

Charities chosen are Village of Progress Christmas Wish List, Oregon; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8739 Food Basket Drive; Mount Morris Toys for Kids; Operation Santa Claus, Byron Police Department; Valley Covenant Church Food Pantry, Stillman Valley; and Can Goods to Oregon Lifeline.

With an advanced-sale ticket purchase, along with helping local communities, ticket redemption for specials and discounts can be made at the following establishments: Alfano’s, 801 S. Fourth St. – spend $25, get $5 off; Breakers, 100 S. Second St. – 50 percent off select appetizers; and Messie’s, 17 N. River Road – receive 15 percent off total bill. The ticket must be shown at the time of purchase.

The annual Christmas open house will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 8, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 9. There will be store-wide discounts (some exclusions apply), food tasting. and door prizes of gift cards from $10 to $50.
