ROCK FALLS – Pauline Marie Hanson, 83, of Rock Falls, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at Coventry Living Center in Sterling, surrounded by her loving family.

Pauline was born Jan. 25, 1930, in Sterling, to Rudolph and Lilly (Fields) Hardt. She worked at Lawrence Brothers and Lawrence Hardware for more than 25 years. Pauline married LaVerne E. Hanson on July 22, 1950, in Dixon. He preceded her in death on April 27, 1998. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls. Pauline was an avid bingo player and a Minnesota Vikings fan. She enjoyed playing cards at the senior center. She was an enthusiastic cheerer for all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren’s activities and games.

Survivors include one son, LaVerne (Bonnie) Hanson Jr. of Rogers, Minn.; three daughters, Cindy (Bill) Smith of Sterling and Linda (Jeff) Murray and Sandy (Donnie) Wyatt, both of Rock Falls; 10 grandchildren, Luke (Chelsea) Hanson, Sarah (Aaron) Hulett, Hilary (Jason) Ruyle, Shannon (Keshia) Smith, Michael (Sarah) Smith, Andrea (Jeremy) Vondra, Mallory (Tyler) Maloy, Brody Murray, Keisha (Angel Rosas) Hanson, and Chevelle (Jon Reyes) Ramirez; 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two grandsons, Jerich Murray and Jesse Blevins; one great-granddaughter, Taylor Vondra; one brother, Ted Hardt; and two sisters, Evelyn Wagner and Virginia Nicklaus.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 4 to 7 p.m., with a time of sharing at 5:30 p.m., Friday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls, with the Monsignor Thomas Dzielak officiating.
