Elinor 'Kay' Merdian

POLO – Elinor "Kay" Merdian, 72, of Polo, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon. She worked at Kable News in Mount Morris for more than 20 years, and most recently worked for Walmart in Dixon.  

Kay was born Nov. 5, 1941, in Walnut, the daughter of Robert and Grace (Tornow) Merdian.

Survivors include her mother, Grace; one son, Mark (Tamela) Merdian of Polo; one brother, Neil (Christa) Merdian of Polo; two sisters, Carol ("Buck") Walter of Naperville and Sharon (Robin) Colglazier of Dixon; and a grandson, Nate Merdian. 

She was preceded in death by her father; and three brothers, Robert, Larry, and Rick Merdian.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St., with the Rev. Monte Cox officiating. Private burial will be at a later date. Polo Family Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
