Michigan’s streak hits 10
Wolverines down Purdue; Ross has double-double in loss
Caris LeVert had 14 points and a career-high 11 rebounds for his first career double-double, and No. 10 Michigan beat Purdue 75-66 on Thursday night in Ann Arbor, Mich., extending its winning streak to 10.
Nik Stauskas scored 16 points, and Derrick Walton added 14 for the Big Ten leaders. The Wolverines (16-4, 8-0) shot 61 percent from the field against a Purdue team that had held its previous five opponents under 42 percent.
The Boilermakers (13-8, 3-5) were led by A.J. Hammons, who had 16 points and eight rebounds.
Michigan was coming off three straight wins over top-10 teams, and there was no letdown at home against Purdue.
Nebraska 60, Indiana 55: Terran Petteway scored 13 of his 18 points in the second half, and Nebraska came back from a 16-point deficit to defeat Indiana in Lincoln, Neb.
The Cornhuskers (11-9, 3-5 Big Ten) won for the third time in four games, and won back-to-back conference games for the first time in their 3 years in the Big Ten.
They also improved to 10-1 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
The Hoosiers (13-8, 3-5) have lost three of their last four.
Shavon Shields and Walter Pitchford scored 11 points apiece, and Ray Gallegos added 10 for Nebraska.
Grand Canyon 76, Chicago State 75: Killian Larson scored 28 points and grabbed a career-high 20 rebounds as Grand Canyon withstood a rally from Chicago State in Chicago.
Grand Canyon (10-10, 5-2 Western Athletic Conference) jumped out to a 49-36 halftime lead before Chicago State (9-12, 4-3) rallied to tie the game at 64 with 6 minutes left, setting up a close finish.
Blake Davis made a 3 with 51 seconds left to put Grand Canyon up 73-68, but Quinton Pippen responded with a long 3-pointer for the Cougars.
With Grand Canyon leading 76-72, Pippen hit another 3-pointer with 4 seconds left. Jerome Garrison then missed two free throws for the Antelopes, but Pippen's desperation heave from beyond half court missed as Grand Canyon held on.
Dixon graduate Matt Ross had 13 points and 12 rebounds.
