In a 1927 article about a lifeguard rescuing an unconscious man from the Rock River, the Dixon Telegraph misspelled the name of the lifeguard and the swimmer.

The lifeguard was Ronald Reagan, and the swimmer was Bert Whitcombe.

We regret the error, although we weren’t alive to make it.
