Grain safety course planned in Lena

PEARL CITY – The Pearl City Elevator and University of Illinois Extension in partnership with the Grain Handling Safety Coalition will conduct at Grain Handling Safety workshop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 27 at Alliance Commodities, 4306 Galena Road, Lena.  

The workshop is designed for grain farmers and families, as well as grain industry handlers. Topics will include an overview of grain handling and storage; entanglement hazards; and fall protection.  

The workshop is free. Registration is due Friday on line at web.extension.illinois.edu/jsw or by calling 815-235-4125. Certified education units for grain handling professionals have been applied for.
