State Police

Larry Dean Meese, 24, of Rock Island; 2:59 p.m. Thursday at Fifth Avenue and Fifth Street in Sterling; handheld cellphone use, driving while license suspended; issued individual bond and given notice to appear in court.

Four injured in two-vehicle crash Friday

OGLE COUNTY – A Rochelle woman and her three children received minor injuries Friday in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 39.

Ogle County Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene at 4:47 p.m. An investigation revealed that a 2007 Pontiac G6 driven by Leslie Zepeda, 35, was westbound when she rear-ended a 2007 Jeep driven by Mark Detwiler, 42, of Woodstock. Detwiler's Jeep rolled over one time.

Zepeda and her children were taken to Rochelle Community Hospital. Their conditions were unavailable Monday. Zepeda was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. The crash remains under investigation.
