Church women to raffle quilt for soldiers

FRANKLIN GROVE – Raffle tickets are available for a quilt to help raise funds for wounded soldiers from Lee County.

Women from Franklin Grove Presbyterian Church and Lee Center First United Church of Christ created a queen-sized quilt.

The quilt is cross-stitched in a star pattern, with light and dark cranberry threads on a white background. Included are two 18-inch by 18-inch and 20-inch by 20-inch accent pillows. The quilt squares were sewn by Carol Barron, Dotty Hillison, Delores Mason, DeLyle Pfoutz, Kay Pottorff, and Donna Wellman, with help from Casey Corbett. Bobi Curia did the quilting.

Tickets are $1 each or $5 for six. They can be purchased at the H.I. Lincoln Building, 136 N. Elm St.; by calling Corbett at 815-456-2135, Pottorff at 815-456-2637, or Mason at 815-857-2784.

The winner's name will be drawn Dec. 12 at Franklin Grove's Christmas in the Grove. For more information, call Corbett, Pottorff, or Mason.
