Parade float in honor of a special man

Congratulations are certainly in order for the outstanding float from Bill and Dick’s Barber Shop in the 2014 Petunia Festival Parade.

This well-planned float, which showed a lot of extra work, won first-place honors in the business division.

This float was a 50-year salute to the popular downtown Dixon barber shop. Bill Heeg and Dick Dir were the very successful owners. It was a perfect relationship.

They served together for many years before God called Bill home very early in life. In honor of his devoted partner and dear friend, Dick never changed the barber shop name.

If your path in life crossed with Bill’s, it made you a better person. Bill and I were born the same year in life. He used to tease by saying he was my “superior” because he was 3 months older than I was.

In closing, I want to conclude that Bill Heeg was very “special” in so many different ways. He watched this parade from heaven with great satisfaction.
