AMBOY – Makenzie R. Rutherford, 7, of Amboy, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at Rockford Memorial Hospital.

She was born Sept. 28, 2006, in Dixon, the daughter of Steven Rutherford and Cassandra Gray. She would have been a second-grader at Amboy Central School.

Survivors include her mother, Cassandra Gray of Amboy; her father, Steven Rutherford of Amboy; her sister, Natalie Loomis; her brother, Karson Loomis; maternal grandparents, Glenda (Dave) Dixon of Amboy and Terry Gray of Alaska; paternal grandmother, Tammy Toth of Amboy; paternal great-grandparents, Alex and Kathryn Toth of Mountain Home, Arkansas; aunts and uncles, Terry Gray II, Jenny and Jeff Crow, Kristoffer Gray, Ericka and Dan Cox, Kathy Rutherford, Nicole Rutherford, and Shawn Rutherford; and so many loving cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, William Rutherford II; maternal great-grandparents, Mary “Rosie” and Glen Stevens, and Carolyn Yellowitz and Arthur Gray; and paternal great-grandparents, Char and William Rutherford.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Monte Cox officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Repose Cemetery in Amboy.

A memorial has been established.
